Slugs are a heavy band from Bristol, Connecticut which is also known as Bell City. We draw inspiration from an array of genres which is why we just refer to our style as heavy. We want to be the heaviest band on the bill and we blend metalcore, hardcore, and deathcore styles into our unique and punishing sound. Similarly to The Acacia Strain we want to fit with many different styles. Currently, we are in the studio working on a new album that will be released later this year. In the meantime, we recently released a music video for our track "Fractured Realm" on Slamworldwide (link below). 

We have always been apart of our local scene in Connecticut and that is where all of us met. While the state is small we have a ton of great bands of all genres which is where our diverse style comes into play. In the fall of 2025, we released our EP "Lifeless Eyes Allow The Soul To Find A New Host". With this release we are continuing to push creatively while still incorporating the Slugs sound with bell hits before breakdowns and dissonant chords with both high and low vocals to accompany them. 

This band has always been about friendship and being an outlet for negative emotions in a negative world. We touch upon an array of topics from politics, mental health, abuse, broken homelife, toxic relationships, grieving death, and karma. While we were going to shows early on artists spoke about using their platform to reach out and connect to people dealing with similar struggles that they had written about. When we became a band, we wanted to be a band with a message. You are not alone. We all are fighting a war inside that people may not see or even understand. But, that doesn't mean you are the only one dealing with that. We encourage everyone to check in on their friends and loved ones at all times and above all else make sure you're putting care and love into yourself. Life is to short. Fear nothing in this life. You are loved and you are not alone. You are stronger than you think. 

We have been grateful to have travelled all across the United States with only a handful that we have not played yet. Keyword is yet; we have a van and we all love to be on the road. We always enjoy intimate sets and want you always grab the mic, mosh, and use the stage and floor as your own. Whether it be a venue like The Webster in Hartford or a DIY house show we encoruage you bring your friends to shows and have fun. Also, support your local scene and make friends and connections with people in them. The music community is a great place to find people with similar interests as you. Start as many bands as you can. Use them to be your creative outlet. Travel the country if you get the chance to. Life was meant to be lived; so please live it as best as you can. 

This year, we are aiming to cross more states off our list of places to play. This winter we have been writing our next EP and for those who enjoy Sanction, The Last Ten Seconds of Life, and early 00's metalcore we think you will really enjoy what we have coming. A new track will be coming out this spring.
